Postby TVJCSUxM » Sun, 04 Mar 2007 12:02:17 GMT

I have a compact flash card reader that reads 512 meg cards but will not read
1 or 2 Gig cards. Is there something I should have configured in Windows XP??

Check the documentation for your
card reader...maybe it has limitations.

2.Flash Memory Card Reader - 16 GB SD Card - Won't Read

I have a Ativa brand (Office Depot store brand) SD/SDHC card reader. On my
home computer, which is a HP dv9925nr 4GB RAM running Windows Vista Home
Premium 64-bit, my card reader causes my machine to run very slowly when I
insert a Patriot memory 16 GB SDHC card in it. It runs up to 8 GB cards OK.
The computer does eventually recognize it but it runs too slowly for me to
open files. Fortunately I can use the built in SDHC card reader on the
computer but its the point.

Now, at work, I use a Dell notebook computer that runs XP Professional.
That one accepts the card reader / 16 GB SDHC card just fine. So it isn't
the card reader or any capacity limitations or anything. I'm thinking its
some kind of driver missing or other conflict with Vista 64-bit.

Incidentally, a slightly older but very similar type card reader from Ativa
does run this 16GB card OK. Also, I bought a 2nd one - same kind - and it
also has the same problem. So its not isolated. Ideas?

3.Compact Flash Card Reader No Pop Up Window

I have had a compact flash card reader for years. Each time I plug it in to
my USB port a window pops up giving my options (copy to file, view files
etc.). Yesterday I used it and no window popped up. I tried a second one
assuming a defect may have occurred. Nothing. I've rebooted more than a
couple of times. Nothing. I'm thinking I may have disabled something. I am
not very computer savvy therefore I don't know where to start looking. HELP!

4.Delkin eFilm-12 Compact Flash Card Reader

After upgrading my older computer (Celeron 700) to
Windows XP from Windows98 SE at home, and after purchasing
a new Dell with Windows XP, my Delkin eFilm-12 USB Compact
Flash Card Reader no longer will work. I tried plugging
it into USB ports both in the front and rear of the new
PC. It is listed in the device manager under USB devices
as "unknown device" and will not show as a drive in
Windows Explorer or My Computer.

The efilm-12 will read and work fine with two different
Windows 2000 machines at work. It also worked properly
with Windows 98 on my celeron machine at home. Delkin
representative says the drivers are part of the Windows XP
operating system and the problem is either with the
computer or with the OS.

Is there a download to fix this problem?

5.autoplay not working with compact flash card reader

I have a USB-connected compact flash reader which no longer "auto-plays". I
have tried the windows repair download but it says there is nothing to
repair. It's not related to XPsp2 but i read somewhere that perhaps it is to
do with realplayer. Can anyone help?!
