  • 1. MSXML4 ServerXMLHttp - the parameter is incorrect
    A web site is trying to read a xml file from disk and receives an error. Order of events: asp page reads form data and formulates a URL, next asp page creates serverxmlhttp object and opens the url with the OPEN method, SOMETIMES this does not work and the error is generated. Here is sample code: Set xml = Server.CreateObject("MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP.4.0") xml.Open "GET", url_value, False ' Actually Sends the request and returns the data: xml.Send the error, when it appears, has these properties: Source: msxml4.dll Description: The parameter is incorrect. Code: Line: 830 Line 830 refers to the xml.open command. Ideas? also, this happens sporadically with MSXML3 as well.

2.SVG output in an iframe

Hi!

I'm using an iframe to display an SVG in IE using Adobe's plugin (ASV 3).
The src of the iframe actually points to an xml file transformed into svg via
an xslt client-side. The xsl file cleary specifies media-type="image/svg+xml"
in the xsl:output. However, it looks like the ASV plugin does not detect the
output as an svg file, and therefore doesn't get fired up.

Is there any way to work around this?

Thank you in advance for your help.

How about if you use <object type="image/svg+xml"
src="path-to-your-xml+xslt" data="path-to-your-xml+xslt"></object>

It's a wild stab in the dark but could possibly be supported.

5.xml in iframe with z-index

Hi,

can anyone tell me why the z-index is not respected for an
iframe with XML source, i.e.

<iframe src=X.xml"  style="position:absolute; z-index:-1;"
id="X" width="100%" height="100%"></iframe>

while the same iframe with src="X.html" works ok (X.html
contains the HTML code generated by the stylesheet
referred to in X.xml).

Thanks,
Anita
